Slump
I’ve hit a sewing slump lately. I’ve got great fabric sitting on my sewing desk just waiting for me to cut into it. Truly amazing fabric that I’m supposed to make my nieces some pretty summer dresses out of. And some terribly “cool” fabric that my boo boo picked out for some summer shorts. I’ve been trying to pump myself up and start sewing again, but let’s face it…. I’m tired. All the homework from 5 classes, all the baseball games and practices, all the spring cleaning, all the shopping for deals, and all the chasing after small children and small dogs has taken its toll on me. Lately it seems that I prefer to sleep in my spare time, and that can be a good thing too. Hopefully I’ll emerge from this phase quickly and bounce back to my usual sewy self. Until then I leave you with Raymond’s rollercoaster!

I honestly can’t tell you how many popsicle sticks went into making this, but it works wonderfully! The rollercoaster is made for marbles, and we had a success rate of 8/10 that actually landed in the catch bucket. The whole thing was hot glued together and then glued down in slots on a foam board. Now, not to insult any of the other children or parents in my sons class, but MY son was the only kid in the class to NOT turn in a popsicle stick house. That’s all I’ll say about that one, tee hee. We got so many compliments from the kids and other parents on this thing though, it was great! My babe was so proud of this thing. Sadly, though it now rests in pieces. Part of it in the trash, and the rest in the recycling bin. The engineer (me), didn’t figure for an adorable 19 month old and her 11 week old chocolate lab accomplice to want to “play” with it. Ah well, you live and learn, and it was fun while it lasted.
That came out so great Jess. Too bad it got destroyed. I bet Raymond was really proud of making such a cool Popsicle roller coaster.
